First I would like to say I'm sorry that I haven't posted anything for nearly two weeks now. I've been currently away from the internet and having some stuff to sort out with in real life. I should have at least given a heads up but sadly I didn't. I would like to profusely apologize for that.
Also I think my next gold making post will be coming in around a week or so. I can't be more specific than that but with luck I'll have something posted by next week.
Again I'm sorry and thanks for giving me a read

Post Patch Day: Afterthoughts and Regrets
Its been a hectic few days now since the patch. Prices have fluctuated a lot lately even for the cheaper items but thankfully prices have settled back down to around the normal price range plus or minus 10g.
How Did I Do
I did okay after the patch. I put a decent amount of enchants, gems and belt buckles up before the servers came down. When I managed to make it back on I made about a 14k profit or so. Not great but not horrible either. I then started to craft a few sets of the new pvp gear but I haven't managed to sell any of it yet sadly.
Afterthoughts and Regrets
One of the main things I wish I did for the patch was to stockpile a lot more. Mainly I should of stockpiled a lot of each volatile and a lot more obsidium ore and elementium ore. I also should of posted a lot more cut gems seeing how mine sold rather quickly. Hindsight is 20/20 though so not much I can do about it now besides to learn from my mistakes for the next patch.
Well that's all for now, hope you enjoyed it.

First things to do in 4.2
Sorry its been so long but today lets talk about what you should be doing first once 4.2 hits.
First Thing First
Purchase or learn whatever new recipes are available to you. This mainly includes the various new pvp gear. Its very important to learn these so you can be one of the first people selling them.
Crafting and Posting the Second
Start crafting these new pvp pieces and also the new glyph. Post them up on the ah immediately at a large price if possible so your price will somewhat endure the undercutters that will eventually pop up. Also you should post any of the items that you may have stockpiled for 4.2. This would mainly include gems, enchants(especially back enchants), belt buckles, flasks, potions and food. People will usually spend more on patch day just because of the fact it is patch day.
Looking for Deals and Steals is the Third
Some people will be posting the various boe epics for a very low price convinced that they are essentially worthless. Yes they would eventually lose their value but until people either do enough firelands dailies to unlock the recipes to craft the weapons these boe weapons and some of the armor too would still have some value. People interested in these epics are the ones who want to get into heroics immediately without having to worry about gearing up through regular dungeons.
Fourth of Course Continue to Ride the Horse that is Called Daily
Do the Firelands dailies. Every single day on any of your toons that can obtain any useful recipes from there. If you don't then you are denying yourself potential gold making possibilities.
That about wraps it up for this post. I'll try to post a bit more regularly hopefully.

Laziness and gold making
People are lazy. Its true, just look at the number of people who buy vendor bought recipes from the ah for 4x the price or more. You can use this to your advantage for quite a few things. One thing I won't be covering is vendor bought recipes and pets just because I haven't sold very many of either one.
The Glyph Package
Buying all the glyphs for a certain class from the ah is rather tedious. Instead offer to sell glyphs in packages in trade chat. I would say to sell them in sets of prime, major, and minor glyph slots that way it would be easier to cod them. You could of course sell every single glyph for a single class in a package too but having to cod it through the mail could be risky because they may only accept and pay for the glyphs that are worth the most on the ah. I would recommend selling class packages of glyphs for face to face deals only.
Food Achievements
There are several achievements that require you to eat several different types of food or even cook several types of food. Achievements like these include: Drinks , emotion , cookies, and delicious.
The first three you can set upon a price and cod them to people. The last one is a rather large achievement so I would recommend only selling it via trade. One could also sell a complete set of mats for all three of the gourmet achievements which are northrend , cataclysm , and outland .
The Other Achievements
Mainly pay attention to holidays and set up items for whatever items the achievements require. For instance the delicious chocolate cake from children's week. Then there are certain reputations that require a large amount of items to become exalted with that faction. These include Cenarion Expedition, Aldors, Scryers, and the Cenarion Circle.
Well that about wraps this post up. Thanks for stopping by.

Quick tip
Its been a while since I've done a post but figured I could do a quick post today and hopefully I can get a more in depth post up about something or another in the next couple days.
Selling Guild Banks
You use your guild bank a lot to store and manage items but have you ever thought about actually making gold by selling a guild bank. This doesn't have to be a special guild of any sort. It could just be a 2 tab bank with the worse name in the world but you could probably sell it for 500g+ because of how lazy people are. Most people won't take the time to get enough guild signatures so you can use their laziness against them. If you have a decent name then you could possibly charge more for it.
Sorry for the quick post today but come by in the next couple days and hopefully I'll have a larger post set up.

Using Pyrite Ore to Make Gold
I recently wrote a guest post for justmytwocopper covering the ways that you can use pyrite ore to make gold. Just follow the link at the end of this article to go check it out.
"Pyrite Ore is the uncommon ore of the Cataclysm expansion. It can be used in various professions so it’s hard sometimes to figure out which profession would be the most profitable to use to make gold with pyrite ore.The first thing we are looking at is the elephant in the room, speculation of epic gems..... Generic 4.2 Stockpile Post Incoming
Here's the generic 4.2 stockpile post that I have been meaning to post. I'll try to cover all the professions that seemed notable. I will not be covering the new epic patterns just yet because of its still unknown where living embers can be obtained yet. If i don't mention where you can obtain a new pattern that is because you learn it from the trainer.
Tailoring
Tailoring has 2 new pvp sets available to it along with a new 36 slot gem bag. The two pvp sets requires embersilk bolts, volatile air, volatile water, and volatile air. You would want to get 152 bolts of embersilk, 67 volatile fire, 37 volatile water, and 30 volatile air if you would want to craft one complete set of each. The new gem bag takes 3 dreamcloth but to get the pattern requires doing several days of dailies in the Firelands.
Inscription
Inscription has a new glyph that can be learned from the major glyph cooldown in which the glyph takes 3 inks of the sea. Inscription also has 3 new pvp relics that it can make. You would need a total of 15 inferno inks, 18 volatile life, 18 volatile waters, and a few vendor items to make each one.
Engineering
Engineering has a new scope and a new gun. Each of the patterns will require doing several days of dailies. The scope takes one hardened elementium bar, 4 electrified ether, 5 obsidium bolts, and 2 dream emeralds. The gun takes 5 hardened elementium bars, 8 truegold, one vendor bought hair trigger, one vendor bought walnut stock, and 5 chaos orbs.
Blacksmithing
Blacksmithing has 2 new pvp sets which include the Bloodthirsty Pyrium set and the Bloodthirsty Ornate Pyrium set. Each complete set requires 97 elementium bars and the ornate set requires 80 volatile water while the other set takes 80 volatile fire. Blacksmithing can also create several new weapons. To get the patterns for the weapons requires doing several days of dailies in the Firelands. Each weapon takes 8 truegold , 5 chaos orbs, and various other materials. To craft one of everything you would need: 3 ocean sapphire, 8 zephyrite, 2 inferno rubies, 2 jaspers, 1 ember topaz, 30 volatile water, 8 volatile fire, 8 heavy savage leather, and 19 hardened elementium bars.
Leatherworking
Leatherworking has 4 new pvp sets that it can craft along with two new bags and a new leg armor. It also has two new cloaks that it can craft. Two pvp sets take 80 heavy savage leather, 40 volatile fire, 20 volatile life, and 20 volatile waters each. The other two pvp sets take 64 heavy savage leather, 80 blackened dragonscale, 40 volatile fire, 20 volatile life and 20 volatile waters each. Each cloak takes one pristine hide and either 4 volatile earth or 4 volatile fire. The patterns for both the leg armor and both bags requires doing a lot of dailies in the Firelands. The new leg armor takes a pristine hide and 20 volatile earth. The new inscription bag takes 3 inferno ink and 3 pristine hides. The new mining bag takes 3 pristine hides and 15 volatile earth.
Jewelcrafting
Jewelcrafting has six new pvp rings that it can make. To craft one of each would take: 6 jeweler's settings, 9 ocean's sapphires, 9 inferno rubies, 9 amberjewels, 16 volatile air, 22 volatile water, 4 volatile fire, 16 volatile earth, and 4 volatile life.
Enchanting
I would recommend preparing several of each of the maelstrom enchants along with several of the other top enchants with a greater focus on cloak enchants. There is a greater focus on cloak enchants because everybody can get a brand new 365 cloak from the new Thrall quest line.
The total amount of items needed to make one each of the trainer recipes and one each of the daily vendor recipes(not including vendor bought items)
embersilk bolts-152 volatile air-46 volatile water-267
volatile fire- 323 volatile earth-55 volatile life- 102
truegold- 72 inferno inks- 18 heavy savage leather-296
elementium bars-194 hardened elementium bars-25 blackened dragonscale-160
inferno rubies-11 ocean's sapphires-12 amberjewel-9
dream emeralds-2 ember topaz- 1 dreamcloth-3
pristine hides- 9 jasper-2 zephyrite-8
ink of the sea-3 electrified ethers-4 obsidium bolts-5

Weekly Review
I've decided that I will start doing a review of what sold well for me in the previous week. I will separate each profession and talk about anything that sold from each area. I'll do it every Tuesday starting today. I may also mention any topics I might post about in the upcoming days.
Enchanting
Think I made around 10k or so from enchanting this week. I sold several crusader scrolls and mighty intellect to weapon scrolls also. Out of the cata enchants I sold, the top sellers were the ones that require lesser celestial essence and also the cloak enchants.
Engineering
I made around 2k or so from engineering. Just sold a few of the engineering pets. Nothing special.
Blacksmithing
I made around 2k from this also. Sold several belt buckles and a few weapon chains too.
Tailoring
I made around 1k or so from this. Just sold a few embersilk bags.
Inscription
I made around 10k or so from this. I sold a stack of mysterious fortune cards and also one darkmoon card.
Alchemy
I made around 1.5k or so from this. I sold a lot of flask but the best selling one was the intellect flask.
Jewelcrafting
I made around 2k from this. I mainly sold uncut and cut meta gems along with a few cut inferno rubies.
That ends this review. Look for a post in the next couple days covering how to be more efficient at selling and managing your items and a probably a post on glyph selling of some sort.

Bags,Bags and More Bags
Bags are a constant item in WoW. Every person needs them at some point while leveling their character. There are bags for nearly every single profession and also generic bags too. Lets look at each of these bags and where they come from.
Generic Bags
The generic bags are the bags that are made through tailoring. Several of these bags sell rather well also. The ones that sell well include the glacial bag, abyssal bag, frostweave bag, embersilk bag, illusionary bag , and of course the netherweave bag. The mats of most of these bags can be gotten cheap enough to allow you to turn a large profit on them. I would recommend saving your dreamcloth instead of making any more illusionary bags right now mainly because of 4.2 and the new recipes coming out. Netherweave bags tend to sell in groups of 4 so I would recommend posting at least 4 of them at a time. The mats for the frostweave, abyssal and glacial bags can be bought pretty cheap usually and they usually sell for the same price as an embersilk bag.
Herb Bags
There are actually two herb bags that sell quite well. The wrath version of it is the emerald bag and the cataclysm bag which is the Hyjal Expedition Bag. You can usually sell at least two or three bags a week.
Enchanting Bags
Again lets look at two enchanting bags in case the market for one could be bad. The Mysterious Bag is the wrath version and the mats price for it can be cheap sometimes. The Otherworldly Bag is the cataclysm enchanting bag but it is kinda unique in that it uses wrath enchanting mats to make it. This tends to make it one of the cheapest specialty bags to make.
Jewelcrafting Bag
There's only one jewelcrafting bag and it is rather small compared to the other specific profession bags. It's called the Bag of Jewels and it only has 24 slots. People tend to buy it though because profession specific bags will automatically sort your inventory for you so it makes it easier to manage your auctions. The mats are easy enough to get and it will sell for triple the price of mats easily. There usually isn't a lot of competition on these bags since its a rather niche market.
Mining Bag
All of the previous bags could be made through tailoring. These next bags including this one are all made through leatheworking. The only mining bag of note to sell is the Mammoth Mining Bag. Mats are very cheap and can also be easily farmed.
Inscription Bag
The one inscription bag of note is the Pack of Endless Pockets. It is a very useful bag for glyph sellers and in very high demand. The mats are exactly the same as the mining bag so you can expect to get them quick and cheap.
Leatherworking Bag
The one leatherworking bag to take notice of is the Trapper's Traveling Pack . It is the largest bag for leatherworking and also skinning so it is a decent seller too. The mats are the exact same as the previous two bags made from leatherworking.
Engineering Bag
These next two bags are both made through engineering. There's only one engineering bag that seems that sells decently. It is of course the Elementium Toolbox. The mats should be rather cheap on most servers because of the price of elementium ore.
Fishing Bag
There's a fishing bag it seems. I've never actually attempted to sell one but I could see it being useful to some people. It is called the Lure Master Tackle Box. Its mats make it fairly cheap to craft. If it sells tho, I've honestly no idea on that one.
Miscellaneous Bags
There were quivers, bag to hold ammo, for hunters and soul shard bags, bag that hold soul shard for warlocks, but both ammo and the amount of soul shards got destroyed in cataclysm.
Well that wraps this post for today. Hope you enjoyed it.

What is my most devious gold making strategy?
This post is in response to the JMTC blog carnival post http://www.justmytwocopper.org/p/wow-gold-blogging-carnival.html.
One of my most devious gold making strategies isn't one that is devious per say but it is just taking advantage of what people will do. I will usually post various enchanting mats of the current raiding tier then I will link my enchanting in trade chat. This will usually get people to purchase my mats in order to get the enchant they want made and after I make it for them they will usually tip also. This gets your mats sold and a tip as well for 5 minutes of work. You can of course use this for any profession.
Thanks for stopping by

Darkmoon Faire part 2
Here we are again at the Darkmoon Faire. You may believe that the only thing you can do at the Darkmoon Faire is turn in decks but there are a few other things you can do there.
Don't Forget the Vendors
At the Darkmoon Faire there are two vendors that have some valuable stuff on them. This vendor http://www.wowhead.com/npc=14846 and this vendor http://www.wowhead.com/npc=14847 are the two vendors that stock some useful items. The items are on a limited supply so you may want to place one alt there for them and check back every so often.
Dense Grinding Stones
I first saw this idea here http://consortium.stormspire.net/showthread.php?751-Guide-Profit-From-Dense-Stones-and-the-Darkmoon-Fair . It involves turning in mass amounts of dense grinding stones for tickets at the Darkmoon Faire and then purchasing either the greater or the lesser darkmoon prize. The idea is that since each of the prizes can drop nearly anything you are hoping to get lucky and get a rare recipe. There are several rare recipes that you can get from it. You should aim to get stacks of dense stone at around 2g or less a stack. Even if you don't get any rare recipes, you do get a lot of uncommon quality items that I usually sell for 25g each or you can of course disenchant them and sell the mats.
Thanks for stopping by for a bit. Let me know in the comments if you did the dense grinding stone method and if you did, then did you get anything valuable.

Thanks for stopping by for a bit. Let me know in the comments if you did the dense grinding stone method and if you did, then did you get anything valuable.

Darkmoon Faire part 1
This post will be part of a series of posts that will cover various tips and tricks in ways to make extra gold through the Darkmoon Faire.
Cards and Decks
The days leading up to the Faire and even after it you should constantly be checking the ah for cheap cards. Many people will make a few cards and then realize how random it is and give up. These people will post the few cards that they made onto the ah for a low price in order to get out of the card making business. You should buy their cards up and either post them again at a greater price or you could use them to make a deck for a low cost.
During the week of the Faire itself, you should be checking the price of the decks versus the trinkets. Sometimes you may find the decks to be a few thousand cheaper than the trinkets which allows you to easily flip them for a decent profit.
If you feel like being a little bit devious you can during the weeks prior to the Darkmoon Faire buy up all of one card from each type of suit from the ah. This could create a shortage of this card causing your opponents to not be able to create their decks unless they make them randomly. There is a risk in that somebody could make a large amount of these cards and just swamp the market with them but its worth a gamble if you are feeling lucky.
Thanks for reading, that's all for now.

How to make a few gold from people who are insane.
I recently finished the insane title on my hunter and it got me thinking how much potential profit there is in the long grind. I'll be covering each rep individually. Each rep requires getting to exalted except for Bloodsail Buccaneers which requires honored rep.
Bloodsail Buccaneers
There isn't much to do on this one. The rep is only earned by slaughtering the guards and npcs in booty bay. So you could have someone pay you for every 1 rep=1gold. They would then put you on follow and then you get to start murdering all of booty bay for about 5 hours. The guards have been buffed so its a lot tougher unless you have a tank class of some sort.
Darkmoon Faire
This rep is one of the easier ones to earn gold from. A lot of people will pay you to let them turn in your decks for you for rep and then they return the trinket to you. An ideal cost would 1g per 1 rep but you can adjust to suit your needs. You could also craft the rogue's decks and sell them on the ah. Each deck usually sells for around 20g a deck or so.
Ravenholdt
There are a few things you can do for this rep. They can pay you to follow you and then you slaughter the syndicate members in arathi highlands. There is also a turn in part for the rep also. It involves turning in lockboxes that you pickpocket from lvl 55ish mobs. Every 5 boxes equals 75 rep. It will take over 2100 lockboxes to get exalted with this rep so there is plenty money making potential.
Steamwheedle Cartel(Booty Bay, Everlook, Ratchet, Gadgetzan)
Again this rep involves them putting you on follow then you get to go slaughter a bunch of pirates. There are pirates outside of both Ratchet and Gadgetzan that affect this rep.

Obsidium shuffle, redux 3
Hello and good to see you here
This will be the last post covering the individual gem shuffle in which this will cover alicite, nightstone, hessonite and zephrite and the potential profit of buying it up and deing it.
Alicite
Alicite is first up this time. Like all of the gems it can be crafted into a green quality pendant and will occasionally be a blue quality pendant. Alicite disenchants into 1-4 hypnotic dust or 1-4 lesser celestial essences, not taking into account the bountiful bag perk. Let's take a look at a formula that takes this into account along with being able to figure out your potential profit. This formula will also include the value of the blue quality jewelry and its disenchanted form too.
2NP + N(1.42)< 2.5Nb(dust)=Fdust P= price of alicite, N= number of alicite,
dust=value of hypnotic dust
2NP+ N(1.42) < 2.5Nb(1/3(GCE))=Fessence GCE= value of greater celestial essence
Nb=N-b Nb=Number of alicite left after the subtraction of all blue quality items
2NP + N(1.42)< b * R= Fblue b=number of blue quality items,
or R=average value of blue quality items
2NP + N(1.42)< b * (1/3)S= Fshard S= Value of a heavenly shard
2NP + N(1.42)< (.74)Fdust + (.26) Fessence + Fblue Fdust= total value of dust,
or Fessence= total value of GCE
2NP + N(1.42)<(.74)Fdust + (.26) Fessence + Fshard
Fblue= total value of blue quality items
Fshard= total value of heavenly shards
As usual 1.42 represents the price of one jeweler setting. The 2 at the beginning of the equation shows that it takes 2 alicite for each pendant. The average amount of dust and essence was assumed from the wowhead DE table. The 1/3 in front of GCE shows that we are converting lesser celestial essences into greater ones and the 1/3 in front of the S shows that we are converting small heavenly shards into normal ones. You have to choose which has greater value on your server, either the blue quality items or heavenly shards. The final equation brings it all into one along with also showing the odds that you will get that enchanting mat with .74 representing a 74 percent chance of getting hypnotic dust and a 26 percent chance of getting lesser celestial essences.
Now lets look at examples on my server to see if this equation actually works. Alicite is currently at 11.55g on my server. I buy 27 alicite at 11.55g each. Hypnotic dust is at 9.75g, GCE is at 24.27g each, a heavenly shard is at 62.2g each and blue quality pendants are around 90g each. Now lets say you get 1 blue quality item from your crafting.
2(27)(11.55) + 27(1.42)< 2.5(26)(9.75)
662.04< 633.75=Fdust
2(27)(11.55) + 27(1.42)<2.5(26)(1/3)(24.27)
662.04< 525.85=Fessence
2(27)(11.55) + 27(1.42)<1 * 90
662.04<90=Fblue
2(27)(11.55) + 27(1.42)< 1(1/3)(62.2)
662.04<20.73=Fshard
662.04<(.74)(633.75) + (.26)(525.85) + 90
662.04< 717.896
For me the equation works but only if I get lucky and get a blue quality item.
Zephrite
Not much to say about zephrite besides to vendor it or sell it on the ah on the days that it is the daily.
Hessonite and Nightstone
Hessonite and Nightstone are exactly the same in the way that they disenchant. The only difference would be their price and number once you plug them into the formula. They each can DE into 1-4 hypnotic dust and 1-4 lesser celestial essences. Their blue quality version can be disenchanted into one heavenly shard. Its very nearly the same equation as alicite but I'll show you anyway. All disenchant values I used are from wowhead's disenchant tables.
2NP + N(1.42)< 2.5Nb(dust)=Fdust P= price of the gem, N= number of gems,
dust=value of hypnotic dust
2NP+ N(1.42) < 2.5Nb(1/3(GCE))=Fessence GCE= value of greater celestial essence
Nb=N-b Nb=Number of gems left after the subtraction of all blue quality items
2NP + N(1.42)< b * R= Fblue b=number of blue quality items,
or R=average value of blue quality items
2NP + N(1.42)< b * S= Fshard S= Value of a heavenly shard
For nightstone
2NP + N(1.42)< (.72)Fdust + (.28) Fessence + Fblue Fdust= total value of dust,
or Fessence= total value of GCE
2NP + N(1.42)<(.72)Fdust + (.28) Fessence + Fshard
Fblue= total value of blue quality items
Fshard= total value of heavenly shards
For hessonite
2NP + N(1.42)< (.73)Fdust + (.27) Fessence + Fblue
or
2NP + N(1.42)<(.73)Fdust + (.27) Fessence + Fshard
The same explanation I gave for alicite covers these also. The only differences are the removal of the 1/3 from the S because of the fact that they will disenchant into full heavenly shards and the different percent chances of getting dust and essence. I don't believe you need another example here but if you do want one please say something in the comments.
Thanks for reading these long posts of math. I'll try to shorten down the math if you guys wish. Just let me know what you think of it in the comments.

Obsidium shuffle, redux 2
Hello and welcome back
Sorry it took so long to get another post up, was having problems with blogger for the past couple days.
Last time I covered the potential profit of just buying up carnelians and disenchanting them. This time I will cover one of the other gems associated with the obsidium shuffle.
Jasper
First up is jasper. It can be crafted into a jasper ring of green quality and it randomly can be a blue quality ring if you are lucky. Jasper usually disenchants into 1-4 dust or 1-3 lesser celestial essences. Lets look at a formula that models this and that you can use to calculate potential profit. Also have to consider the chance of obtaining a blue quality item and also the value of said item in its disenchanted form too.
NP + N(1.42)< 2.5Nb(dust) = Fdust P= price of jasper, N= number of jasper
NP + N(1.42) < 2Nb(1/3(GCE)) = Fessence GCE= price of greater celestial essence,
Nb=N-b dust= price of hypnotic dust
Nb=number of jasper left after how many blue quality items you get
NP + N(1.42)< b * R = Fblue b= number of blue quality rings,
or R= average value of blue quality ring
NP+ N(1.42) < b * (1/3)S = Fshard S= value of heavenly shard
NP + N(1.42) < (.74)Fdust + (.26)Fessence + Fblue Fdust=total value of dust,
Fessence=total value of GCE
NP + N(1.42) < (.74)Fdust + (.26)Fessence + Fshard Fblue=total value of blue items,
Fshard= total value of small heavenly shard
1.42 is the price of the jeweler setting. I took the assumed average of how many dust or essence you get since quantity will overcome RNG.The 1/3 next to the GCE shows that we will be assuming that you convert all lesser celestials into greater ones. The 1/3 next to S shows that we will be assuming you convert all small heavenly shards into large ones. You have to choose which has more value, the blue quality rings or the heavenly shards. The final equation just brings it all together for one total. The final equation also has the two decimal points in it to represent the percent chance that you will get that enchanting mat when you disenchant according to the wowhead disenchanting table. You will have to choose which equations to use by looking at your server prices.
Now lets look at an example using the prices on my server
So I buy 50 jasper gems at 7g per gem. The price of a GCE is at 27.5g, hypnotic dust isn't represented at all on my ah so lets be pessimistic and assume a price of 5g per dust , blue rings at 100g each, and heaveanly shards are at 70g each. Lets also assume you get 3 blue rings from it
50(7) + 50(1.42)<2.5x47(5)
350 + 71<=587.5=fdust
421<587.5=fdust
50(7)+50(1.42)<2 x 47(1/3(27.5))
350+71< 861.6=fessence
421<861.6=fessence
50(7)+50(1.42)< 3* 100
350+ 71<300=Fblue
421<300=Fblue
50(7) +50(1.42)< 3*(1/3(70))
421<70=fshard
421<(.74)587.5+ (.26)861.6 + 300
421<434.75 + 224.016 + 300
421< 958.766
The equation does seem to work and it shows that it is profitable when you just buy jasper gems.
Pros- Can use the equation to quickly figure out profits, way faster than prospecting ore,
Cons- It doesn't fully take into account extremely bad or good RNG, buying just jasper may lead to a shortage of greater celestial essences if you do the shuffle for enchanting mats. The equation also doesn't take into account auction house deposit costs. Doesn't take into account the bountiful bags guild perk
That ended up being far longer than I wanted but oh well. Next time I'll look at the rest of the gems and I'll try to keep it shorter.
Thanks for reading, that's all for now.

Obsidium shuffle, redux
We all know the obsidium shuffle. We have grinded countless thousands of ore down with our prospecting macro. We suffered under the nerf to the cut gem price and we are going to suffer even more once they change the price of uncut gems to 50 silver also. Perhaps it might be time to try a different way of shuffling. Lets look at how much profit there is in the carnelian market.
Each carnelian can turn into either 2-3 GCE or 3-5 hypnotic dust not counting a proc from the bountiful bags perk. I'll try to make a formula that figures out how much profit you can make from buying up just carnelians instead of all of the ore.
NP+ N(1.42) < 2.5(N/3)(GCE) P= price of carnelian, N= number of carnelians
NP+ N(1.42) < 4(N/3)(dust) GCE= price of greater celestial essence,
dust= price of hypnotic dust
The 1.42 is the price of the jeweler setting, dividing N by 3 on the right side is to show the number of disenchants that you actually do.
So first look at your auction house. Look at the prices of greater celestial essences, hypnotic dust and carnelians. Take these prices and input them into the equation. In order to make a profit from disenchanting carnelians one of the math formulas must be true.
Let's look at an example of the equations on my server.
Carnelians are at 9g per, lets say i buy 3 stacks worth, so 60 of them. GCE are at 34g per and dust is at 7g per. So the equation would look like this
60(9) + 60(1.42)< 2.5x (60/3)(34)
625.2< 1700 So the equation proves true if you got pure GCE
60(9) + 60(1.42) < 4(60/3)(7) The equation doesn't prove that you would make a profit if
625.2< 560 you got pure dust.
Edit: Thanks to Flux tipping me on the DE table ratio, the equation can made to be read as
625.2< 1700(.75) + 560(.25)
625.2< 1415
So the equation does seem to work somewhat and it shows that it can profitable to just buy carnelians by themselves.
Pros- A good way to look quickly at potential profits, far faster than prospecting obsidium
Cons- Does not take into account RNG, does not take into account undercutting on auction house and auction house deposit costs. Leads to a shortage of hypnotic dust eventually.
That's all for now, thanks for reading.

First post- ideas, designs, goals, and a tip
I broke down and decided to finally start a blog.I figured that I could help out a few people with various ways to make gold in World of Warcraft. My goals with this blog are to write posts that are up to date with the latest changes in wow and to write posts that provide valuable tips and tricks in gold making.
I will try to write posts that will entertain the readers and be different from the various other gold blogs that are out there.
Now that the wall of text is out of the way lets get onto a useful gold making tip. BoA enchants are very popular on my server. They are a very fast mover. I'd recommend making mainly the weapon enchants which include: healing power, spellpower, fiery weapon, crusader, unholy weapon, lifestealing, mighty intellect.
Have you wondered why people will spend 250g on fiery weapon with mats that costs 30g or so. I personally think the main reason is that well it glows, which is a sad reason to buy it.
Yeah some of these enchants are rather good to level with of course. Even if you don't have these enchants, their mats usually include large brilliant shards. If you have a large amount of these I'd recommend getting some of these enchants and selling them.
This wraps up the first post, feel free to post comments, criticisms, and your own experiences.
